MoSoft Stock privacy policy

MoSoft Stock is published by MoSoft ("we", "us"). It is a business tool: you and your team use it to manage your own products, customers, invoices and payments. This policy explains what we do with the data involved.

Your account

To use the app you create an account with your name, email address and a password. We store the password only as a secure one-way hash. We use your email to sign you in and, if needed, to contact you about your account.

Your business data

Products, stock, customers, invoices and payments you enter are stored on MoSoft servers in the United Kingdom, in a database that belongs only to your business. If you run more than one company in the app, each company has its own separate database. Members of your team can see this data; nobody else can. We use it only to provide the service to you. We never sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Customer details you enter

If you record your own customers' names, emails, phone numbers or addresses, you are responsible for that data under UK GDPR, and we process it only on your instructions to run the app.

Camera

The camera is used to read barcodes and, when you choose to, to take product photos or scan paper documents. Barcode scanning happens on your iPhone; those camera images are never stored or uploaded.

Product photos

You can add photos to your products from the camera or your photo library. The app only sees the photos you pick. Before upload, the app tidies each photo on your iPhone (it can remove the background, correct brightness and resize it); nothing is sent to anyone else for this. The finished photos are stored with your business data on MoSoft servers and only your team can see them. Deleting a photo removes it from our servers, and closing your business account deletes all of them.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Documents

You can store files such as contracts, supplier invoices and delivery notes, from the camera, your photo library or the Files app. The app only sees the files you choose. To make scanned pages and photos searchable, the app reads the text on them on your iPhone and stores that text with the document; nothing is sent to anyone else for this. Documents are kept with your business data on MoSoft servers, only your team can see them, and each company has 2 GB of storage. Deleting a document removes it from our servers, and closing your business account deletes all of them.

Keeping and deleting data

You can delete your account at any time in the app (More → Account → Delete account). If you are the account owner, this permanently deletes your whole business account, including all its data and team members. Staff accounts can be removed by the owner.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data by emailing [email protected].
